Mastering 2-Digit Math
Grade 2 introduces the critical concept of regrouping (or "carrying/borrowing").
Moving from 23 + 4 to 28 + 15 requires students to understand that 10 ones make 1 ten.
This is the foundation for all future multi-digit arithmetic.
Introduction to Multiplication
While fluency isn't expected until Grade 3, Grade 2 students start exploring multiplication as "repeated addition" and skip counting (2, 4, 6...). Visualization arrays and groups helps cement this connection early on.
